Imbeded YouTube videos in presentation
Randolph College currently has been flagged by Google requiring us to be logged into Google to view YouTube videos. We have attempted to get unflagged, but have been unsuccessful in accomplishing this. Below are workarounds for using YouTube videos in presentations:
- Option 1
- Create the presentation inside of Google Slides
- This is a web based application and you will already be logged into your Google account, so the embedded video should be associated to your account and play.
- Option 2
- If you created the video in PowerPoint, you will need to open the video with the web based version of PowerPoint in order for it to play correctly.
- Go to www.office.com and log in with your email address and portal password.
- Click on the "Apps" icon on the left side of the page and then choose "PowerPoint".
- Choose "Upload a file" and the file should upload and open in the web version of PowerPoint.
- Any embedded YouTube videos should play now.
- Option 3
- You can copy the YouTube URL and just paste it in your PowerPoint slide.
- You can just paste the URL in any section of the PowerPoint.
- Once you run the presentation, the link will be clickable.
- Click on the link and it will open up a browser window to the video.
